Airspeed vs. Altitude

The airspeed of a falling body varies with altitude. This applies to skydivers in freefall or any parachute system in descent.

Airspeed vs. Altitude

Airspeed at 12,000 ft will be 20% higher than the airspeed at sea level.

At a drop zone with a 6,000 ft density altitude, airspeed would be 9.2% greater than the sea level airspeed.
